Malala was banned from speaking in public under the Taliban. However, as a young female leader, she gave many speeches, won various awards, and communicated with many celebrities. As a result, Malala has given hope to females around the world to secure the educational rights they are entitled to.

Meeting Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace
Malala was invited by Queen Elizabeth to Buckingham Palace. When meeting the queen, Malala requested government and world's organizations to do something for the world to reduce poverty and improve literacy. Malala also presented the queen with a copy of her book, I am Malala. Elizabeth was very impressed with her present.
Meeting President Barack Obama in USA
Malala was invited to visit the White House and meet President Barack Obama. She talked about the importance of education and children striving to get an education in developing countries. During the meeting with Obama, Malala gifted her signed book to Obama's daughter.
Speech at Harvard University

Malala gave a speech at Harvard University upon recieving the 2013 Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian of the Year Award. She was the youngest person ever to get this award. |

The U.N designated July 17, Malala Day.
It is a day not only to celebrate Malala Yousafzai, but for all children to raise their voices and be heard. It is a day to stand up for education and say to world that we are stronger than the enemies of education and the forces that threaten students from leaving safe, happy lives.
